The Music of Elmo Wick

We had a set of workshops to learn fiddle tunes led by Pam Longtine Lynn & Dixon, Dempsey Schroeder and Maggie Harp. This was followed by a brief description of the history of Elmo's Collection, followed by a concert including students who participated in the workshops as well as the workshop leaders.

October 16, 2016 in Bloomington


We had a workshop to learn fiddle tunes, followed by a party to celebrate 30 years of the Minnesota State Fiddlers Association, followed by a concert. Presenters included MaryPat Kleven and Hoof on the Roof, Andrew Renneker. Tunes taught included “From Hallingdal to Minnesota”, “Polka After Gilbert Rime”, “Crow Country Waltz”, and “The Sagedahl Waltz”.

October 30, 2016 in First Congregational Church - Cannon Falls


We had a set of workshops in the basement of the church. Randy Hinzmann and MaryPatKleven taught “Arlan Erickson's Schottische” and “Old Norwegian Waltz”.  John Wallace and The String Beans taught “Schottische after Andrew Wick” and “Herbert Erickson's Polka”. There was a presentation by Walter Sigtermans.  This was followed by a concert in the worship area.
